Americans for Responsible Taxes is a coalition of concerned communities, small business owners and working families coming  together to support sustainable, accountable and responsible tax policies for the US.  This year, we have four major goals: end the Bush era tax cuts for the wealthiest, reinstate a strong estate tax, eliminate tax loopholes for corporations and the wealthiest, and ensure economic security for working families.

ART members believe the best way to help small businesses is to reverse the tax cuts for the wealthy and use that money to invest in jobs, support needed programs and infrastructure and begin to ddress the long-term deficit.

As part of the ART coalition you will be in the company of nearly 200 national and local groups who are committed to restoring balance and common sense to our tax system. After 10 years of the failed Bush economic policies it is time to set things right – but we need your help to do it.

Be a part of the solution:  How you can help make responsible taxes a reality:

1. Participate in a local ART coalition (give us your state and we’ll send you contact information
2. Write or Call your members of Congress (see the attached letter to the Senate signed by 50 national organizations)–
3. Visit your member of Congress or their staff when they are at home –
4. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper – they want to hear from small business folks (we have sample op-eds and letters)
5. Call in to or be a guest on Local Talk Radio Shows to offer your views
